Last October, I took a team to Kenya and Tanzania. It's time to do it again!
This Sunday I will be leading a team into Nairobi, Kenya. While we are there we will be visiting two different orphanages and Kibera, the largest slum in Africa. One of our biggest partnerships is Haven of Hope International. Haven of Hope Intl. is "setting a new standard in orphan care." We will be checking in on the homes, assessing additional need, and introducing folks who have raised funds for their futures.
After spending 4 days in Nairobi and the surrounding area, we will head by bus to Arusha, Tanzania. In Arusha, we will visit one more children's home before heading to the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is where I will leave the team. They have been raising funds for Haven of Hope's "Futures of Hope Fund" and are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness of the global need to take better care of the nation of orphans. I had planned on climbing with them this year, but with the arrival of my son Cedar, I have decided to head home to help my wife care for our son. ( I just know that I will be missing him too much... I am not hero, just selfish.). .
I will be updating from Africa, so please stay connected through our social media links!
And as always please keep us in your prayers!
